General SuperintendentOur Project Services division of Leadec is seeking a General Superintendent to manage day-to-day oversight of supervision of all field projects in numerous locations including, but not limited to:Body & Assembly Automation projectsPowertrain Automation projectsOEM installation projectsStructural steel and mezzanine design, manufacture and installationConveyor design, manufacture and installationMechanical & Electrical installationRobot and PLC programmingProject Management servicesEquipment Relocation (Rigging & Millwright Projects)On-site technical servicesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure that all projects are performed in accordance with contractual and quality standards.Schedule and direct the daily activities of work and taking necessary action to assure that the project objectives of cleanliness, safety, price, schedule, quality and process are metDevelopment, procurement, and enforcement of safety policies and proceduresMaintain daily paperwork such as timecards, field reports, schedule updates and E-mail correspondence to keep the various people involved with the project informed of important issuesImplement incremental project schedules that make sure upcoming events are on track and are being proactively attended toPromote and maintain a culture that supports our corporate principlesConduct and/or attend pre-construction, progress and other project and staff meetingsMonitor staffing needs, evaluate performance, and address employee relation issues as warranted for field staffCompetencies:Communication - Effective verbal and written communicationCustomer Service Orientation - Satisfying customersAdaptability - Willingness to deal with unexpected challenges or circumstancesProblem Solving - Defining problems and bring about viable solutionsLeadership -- Strives to delegate, balance workloads and achieve consensus; flexible yet effective management styleKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independentlyMust possess strong leadership skillsMust be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situationsAbility to provide direction and hold a team accountable to meeting the desired resultsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite -- including Excel, Word, Power-point (or similar)Must be able to manage employees and have strong leadership skillsMust have mechanical trades experience of the following industrial trades, rigging, pipefitting, pipe welding, ductwork, equipment relocations, structural welding, mechanical fabrications, machine assemblies.Must have thorough knowledge of OSHA's requirements for construction safety and have attended an OSHA 30-hour certification in the last five yearsMust be able to read and understand construction documents and drawings.Must be able to identify quality workmanship as it relates to building codes, industry standards, contract documents, and identify rework if required.Must be able to produce, maintain, and direct the project schedule that is driven by project managersAdhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectivelyPosition Qualifications & Requirements:10+ years' experience working in the industrial trades and able to perform all craft disciplines as outlined above8+ years' experience as a project superintendent with 15 years of total construction experiencePrevious experience in construction managementPrevious experience managing project budgets, developing and maintaining schedules, and owner relationshipsExcellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the key actions of the job:Required to talk and/or hear in an office and industrial setting where noise levels can vary greatly. Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces from 4-12 hours. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouchVision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustmentWork is performed in an office and/or onsite in an industrial manufacturing environment
