This Calibration Engineer is responsible for calibration development of Monroe® Intelligent Suspension (MIS) Systems for original equipment manufacturers (OEM). The role will perform a range of activities including the gathering of customer requirements, calibration, validation and delivery of the final calibration to customer. A successful candidate must be a  self-starter with a positive attitude who works well both in groups and independently.

  • Work closely with OEM customers in the development of electronic calibrations for ride control projects which meet established ride, performance and durability requirements
  • Perform calibration development working closely with vehicle dynamics engineers in vehicle
  • Contribute to projects to develop new or improved processes and innovations
  • Assist the advanced development group with future MIS product development
  • Support the modeling and simulation team of electrical dampening systems with vehicle response evaluation and correlation activities
  • Participate in the creation and review of concept design and process FMEA, DVP&Rs and 8Ds
  • Anticipate and analyze customers’ needs for new technologies and formulate recommendations for their design and development, integrating control strategies with the Electronic Control Unit
  • Provide feedback to the software group to address issues and continual software improvement
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of calibration guides, process flows, and standardization of calibration development

Required Skills
Required Experience
  • Bachelors of Science in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience in calibration development for automotive applications
  • Experience with calibration tools e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI Vision etc
  • Willingness and ability to travel 5-10% of the year (both domestic and international)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Matlab and Simulink experience
  • Formula SAE/Baja and/or EcoCAR experience
