Overall Responsibilities
Our Quality Engineer position is a collaborative and highly impactful role that will be responsible as a direct contact person in the all the quality area for e-PT components (Inverter, Convertor and Motor) returned from the customer plant, including analyzing, repairing, and identifying root causes.
Major Tasks
- Responsible to management of Customer’s warranty center operations:
- shipping/receiving returned e-PT components from Customer warehouse/ plants.
- analyzing, root investigation, troubleshooting, and repair/refurbishing the defective parts
- validation with chamber/TAS and test EOL equipment
- Maintain and manage test equipment; EOL, Charger/Discharger, Leak Tester, etc.
- Oversee all quality issues for e-PT components including field support, Plant Liaison and RMA process management.
- Analyzes all warranty claims to determine root cause of product returns.
- Perform tear down and failure analysis of returned product to determine root causes.
- Conduct SWAP testing with tracked removed parts with sub-suppliers to trace issues.
- Lead APQP activates and coordinates PPAP documentation (PFD, PCP, PFMEA) for customer approval.
- Lead the response to emerging quality issues by tracking and performing containment activities.
- communication effectively with customer and internal teams (locally and overseas) regarding quality concerns
- Lead Product Review Report (PRR) investigations to identify potential root cause of failed parts.
- Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data with recommendations.
- Report quality status internally (locally and overseas) and to the customer, using PRTS, 5 Phase, GQTS, 8D methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of Electrical/ Electronics Application or Test Engineering
- Skill in Quality Engineering Root Cause Analysis
- Experience in process improvement and quality engineering methodologies
- Knowledge of Quality system (TS16949) and APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, etc.
- Understanding of electrical printed circuit board assembly (PCBA)
- Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics.
- Ability to travel up to 10% to customers, warehouse required.
- Ability to use independent judgment and exercise discretion while performing job tasks.
- Ability to occasionally lift and manipulate (bending, twisting,) with physical dexterity parts up to 60 lbs. and to stand and/or stoop for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge of automotive electronics
- Experienced in Electrical Vehicle components such (Inverter, Converter, Motor, etc.)
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
- Ability to read and understand programming languages such as C Languages, Visual Basic, and/or others.
- Knowledge of OEM quality related processes and requirements
- Ability to be self-driven and results-oriented with a keen sense of initiative to tackle complex tasks.
- Advanced skills in problem solving and analytics.
- Expert written / verbal communication.
- Advanced organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to identify risks and elevate appropriately.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly with the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt to company working culture and processes.
