Electrical Project EngineerLoenbro is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and other project participants as needed by ensuring the success of a project through the technical accuracy of all electrical aspects.Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):Project Engineering & Coordination: Cooperate and communicate with the Project Manager and project participants to create efficient project methods and maintain project profitability. Coordinate with Preconstruction Group for engineering requirements and ensure project compliance with NEC, NFPA, and other applicable electrical codes, standards, and specifications.Document & Quality Control: Maintain and organize all electrical documentation including schematics, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, specifications, change orders, and closeout documentation within Procore tools.
Coordinate field testing methods and quality monitoring based on project requirements and internal guidelines.Field Operations & Verification: Coordinate field electrical testing, verification, and commissioning with Superintendent including voltage checks, terminations, and compilation of as-built data. Gather and prepare data for submittal to customers, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use.Procurement & Materials Management: Perform electrical material take-offs from drawings and specifications. Prepare purchase requisitions for required electrical materials and monitor delivery status to support construction schedule and budget.Planning & Scheduling: Assist PM in developing and maintaining project schedule using MS Project.
Support development of Electrical Estimates and Schedule of Values for billing. Coordinate with other divisions on estimates and attend job walks to ensure quality estimate development.Safety & Compliance: Assist PM in developing Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans (SSHEP) and setting up Project Kick Off Meetings. Ensure all activities comply with OSHA and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and company safety protocols.Additional Responsibilities:Provide project administration including reviewing electrical permitting, bonding, and RFI'sAssist with Electrical Subcontract Agreements developmentUpdate electrical estimates and projects with change ordersAttend site meetings as neededQualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.Previous experience in piping design and engineering in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, or power generation preferred, not required.Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and pipe stress analysis toolsStrong understanding of relevant piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge Skills And Abilities:Electrical construction and installation experience necessaryOSHA and NFPA 70E compliance knowledge requiredUnderstanding of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and controlsKnowledge of electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, and distribution panelsDiverse background in electrical systems, low voltage, and instrumentationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft ProjectAbility to function well in high-paced, stressful environmentsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field2-3 years of electrical construction experience requiredPhysical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
