Electrical Project EngineerWe are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join our Corporate Engineering team in Troutville, VA. This position will be responsible for overseeing and managing all electrical aspects of projects within the cement manufacturing operation. This includes the planning, design, execution, and completion of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The role requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering, project management skills, and experience in the cement or similar heavy industry.ResponsibilitiesProject Planning and Management:Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets for electrical projectsCoordinate with other departments (mechanical, civil, process) to ensure integrated project planningManage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control measures are in placeDesign and Engineering:Lead the design and engineering of electrical systems and components for new installations, upgrades, and maintenance projectsEnsure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulationsReview and approve electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentsProcurement and Contracts:Collaborate with the procurement team to source electrical equipment and materialsEvaluate and select vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with suppliersEnsure timely delivery and quality of materials and equipmentProject Execution and Monitoring:Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipmentMonitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategiesConduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety and quality standardsTeam Leadership and Coordination:Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and contractorsCoordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory authoritiesFacilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team membersQuality Assurance and Safety:Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols for electrical projectsEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulationsConduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazardsReporting and Documentation:Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior managementMaintain comprehensive project documentation, including design files, progress reports, and change ordersEnsure proper handover of completed projects to the operations and maintenance teamsQualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical project management, preferably in the cement manufacturing or heavy industrySkills:Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practicesProficiency in project management software and toolsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesKnowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulationsCertifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable
