We are building a talent pool for future full-time Electrical Lineworker Instructor roles and invite you to be part of a team that is shaping tomorrow's utility professionals.Through real-world instruction, field training, and a focus on safety, you'll help students gain the confidence and competence to thrive in the utility industry.About the Program Our Electrical Lineworker program prepares students for entry-level employment in utility work by combining hands-on field training, core technical concepts, and industry-standard safety practices. Students learn everything from the basics of electrical theory and equipment use to climbing, pole-top rescue, and operating digger derricks and bucket trucks.As an instructor, you'll lead students through classroom instruction, lab work, and field exercises—giving them the tools they need to enter the workforce safely and successfully.What You'll DoTeach assigned Electrical Lineworker courses, incorporating current OSHA/NESC standardsProvide hands-on training in pole climbing, transitions, rigging, rescue, and field operationsInstruct and certify students in CPR, First Aid, and bloodborne pathogen safetyMentor students on career pathways, apprenticeships, and certifications (e.g., NWSA)Maintain accurate records of attendance, academic performance, and practical skillsEnsure that all tools, safety gear, and training equipment are up-to-date and functionalParticipate in course planning, curriculum review, and industry engagementPromote a classroom culture centered on safety, professionalism, and teamworkSupport student success by participating in recruitment, retention, and job placement effortsEngage in ongoing professional development to remain current with industry standardsQualifications Required:High School Diploma or GEDElectrical Journeyman Lineman certification and/or equivalent, titled experienceMinimum 3 years of field experience in linework, power distribution, or telecomAbility to perform pole-top rescues, bucket work, and climbing demonstrationsWorking knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and other applicable safety codesValid driver's license and insurable driving record (CDL Class A or B preferred)Current or ability to obtain within 3–6 months: NCCER ICTP Certification (we'll cover the cost); OSHA 10-hour Certification; CPR CertificationPreferred:Associate degree in Electrical Systems Technology or a related fieldExperience teaching or mentoring in educational or apprenticeship settingsCampusNexus experienceProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)ScheduleStandard Full-Time Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PMFriday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PMWork Environment & Physical DemandsInstruction delivered across classrooms, outdoor training yards, and labsExposure to outdoor elements, including weather, noise, and vibrationAbility to climb poles, lift up to 120 lbs, and demonstrate physical skills regularlyVisual acuity and comfort working at height are essentialWhat We OfferPay: Up to $55/hour, based on qualifications and industry experienceFull-time employees enjoy a full benefits package including:401(k) with company matchHealth, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife InsuranceParental LeavePaid Time Off (PTO)Tuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)We invest in our team members with a comprehensive compensation package designed to support your well-being and professional growth.Ready to Empower the Next Generation?
