Electrical Installer

The Electrical Installer is responsible for the installation of aircraft components, mechanical systems, wiring, and flight safety controls. This role serves as a subject matter expert, providing coaching and guidance to support the correct understanding and use of engineering drawings, blueprints, wire schematics, and specifications. The position involves working on new-build aircraft and production assembly, ensuring that electrical systems are installed, tested, and modified in accordance with established standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Install aircraft components, mechanical systems, wiring, and flight safety controls in new-build and production aircraft assemblies.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, wire schematics, and technical specifications to perform accurate electrical installations.
  • Apply working knowledge of electrical theory, principles, and circuitry to modify, assemble, test, and install aircraft electrical systems.
  • Select and use various types and sizes of wires, cables, and connectors appropriate to multiple aircraft electrical systems and applications.
  • Perform clamping and routing of wiring and cabling to meet safety, performance, and quality standards.
  • Use hand and automatic wire strippers, wire cutters, heat guns, electric and pneumatic power tools, and other specialized trade tools to complete installations and modifications.
  • Operate common electrical test devices, including megohmmeters, digital and analog multimeters, voltmeters, ammeters, bond meters, meggers, and specially devised test sets.
  • Conduct basic electrical checks for continuity, resistance, voltage, opens, shorts, insulation breakdown, grounds, and malfunctioning switches and relays.
  • Support and coach team members in understanding and correctly applying engineering documentation and test procedures.
  • Follow all safety requirements and facility guidelines while working in a deadline-driven production environment.
  • Work 2nd shift (Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.) and perform overtime as required to meet production schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in production environments with strong attention to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively on a 2nd shift schedule (Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.).
  • Comfort working in a role that may require regular overtime to meet production demands.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures and facility guidelines.
  • Capability to coach and support others in understanding engineering drawings and electrical test procedures.

Work Environment:

The role is based in a rapidly growing, deadline-intensive production facility where overtime is required in most positions to meet schedule commitments. The workplace is highly organized and very clean, with good lighting throughout and a climate-controlled environment that supports comfort and focus. The company provides all tools and measuring instruments needed for the job. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Dress code includes closed-toe shoes, long pants, and t-shirts that are appropriate for a professional setting. Safety requirements include steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection where required, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
