Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in data centre projects. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine scope and requirements. Utilize software tools such as Accubid and Bluebeam to develop comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and budgets. Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates and provide recommendations to mitigate risks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and labour costs. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions. Review and refine estimates based on feedback and project updates.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, preferably with a focus on data centre or mission-critical projects. Proficiency in cost estimation software, including Accubid and Bluebeam. Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality. Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field are preferred.

Day-to-Day

Review project documentation and conduct take-offs to determine material and labour requirements. Input data into estimation software to generate detailed cost breakdowns. Attend meetings with project teams to discuss project scope, timelines, and budgets. Monitor and update estimates as project details evolve. Research and source pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Prepare and present cost estimation reports to stakeholders. Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and client requirements.
