Electrical Estimator – Substation Construction
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a background in substation construction or the electric utility industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for electrical and substation construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to determine project scope and costs.
- Complete material and labor take-offs.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
- Prepare competitive bids and proposals.
- Identify project risks, scope gaps and potential change orders.
- Work closely with Project Management and Construction teams throughout the estimating and project handover process.
- Attend pre-construction and project meetings as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of electrical construction estimating experience.
- Experience within substations, transmission, distribution or the wider electric utility industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials and costs.
- Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
- Pennsylvania-based preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to offices and project sites.
