Our core values include building solid partnerships, providing exceptional service, nurturing a positive work environment, and offering comprehensive support to all our teammates.ResponsibilitiesReview and evaluate project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant materials to identify requirements for creating a bid proposalCalculate the cost of electrical construction based on a review and evaluation of available documentsConsult with clients, vendors, and personnel from other departments to discuss and formulate estimates, and resolve issuesConfer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimatesPrepare estimates for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling workAttend job site walk-throughs with other estimators as necessary to ensure proper handling of any field conditions that may potentially impact construction, bids, or pre-construction designsRequest quotes for materials and equipment from vendors and equipment suppliersDevelop and maintain positive relationships with vendorsPrepare bid documents, including specific scope letters for each project, evaluations with adjustments for buy-outs, labor rates, productivity, etc., and identify any inconsistencies, conflicts, or other issuesMinimum 5+ years of relevant experience related to commercial and/or industrial projects Accustomed to estimating projects valued at $3 million and above Thorough knowledge of the electrical field with familiarity in materials and construction methodsKnowledgeable of the NEC and local codesExperience using industry-leading estimating softwareQualificationsAt Cummings, we are motivated by achieving our goals and fostering a strong work ethic.
