Electrical Engineering TechnicianFMS Aerospace is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Technician for our Huntsville office location. The successful candidate in an integral part of our production team and will be responsible for building assemblies within established timeframes and documenting specifications, ensuring that all work and components meet rigorous quality standards. The candidate shall be expected to display keen attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and support others in the shop throughout the company, both technically and as teammates.
This position requires someone interested in avionics and electrical systems for various aircraft.ResponsibilitiesManufacturing and assembling cables and wire harnessesTesting and function-checking completed assembliesFilling out travelers and documenting components progress through the shopRegular use of the following tools: soldering iron, wire cutter/stripper/crimper, screwdriver, hand drill, Windows PC, digital multi-meter, etc.Communicate, discuss, and listen to design challenges with management and teammates, etc.Will work with a team of Electrical and Design Engineers and PMs to troubleshoot, design, and implement electrical systems supporting various military and commercial customersProvide offsite & onsite assistance and installation of electrical systemsMentored by avionics and electrical engineering technicians and junior level electrical engineers within the companyOccasionally be asked to travel to hangars, bases, customer sites to facilitate successful system integration of mechanical and electrical and provide assistance as needed to Project Managers at onsite locationsRequired Qualifications2-4 years' experience in avionics and/or electrical wiring systemsMinimum of a high school diploma/GEDIPC-620 certification is a mustExperience reading electrical drawingsExperience in a production/manufacturing settingStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work proficiently with remotely located employees as well as in a team environmentProficiency in English (written and spoken)Must be U.S. citizenMust currently possess an active Department of Defense Secret clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience soldering and/or hand crimpingFamiliarity with analog and digital electronicsFamiliar with using a digital multimeterInterest in aviation airframe modifications is recommendedA&P certification or relevant certifications are a plusDoD or Military background is a plusCompany ProfileFounded in 2013, FMS is a growing, flexible, customer-driven aircraft structural engineering and flight test company with manufacturing capability.
