Electrical Engineering TechnicianThe Electrical Engineering Technician supports the engineering team by assisting in the design, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of electrical systems and equipment. This role works closely with engineers, production, and field service teams to ensure electrical components and systems meet performance, safety, and quality standards.Essential Job Responsibilities:Assist in failure analysis of AC/DC motors, generators, servo motors, and rotating equipmentTroubleshoot and test Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo drives, and motion control systemsPerform and document electrical testing including insulation resistance (megger), surge comparison, hipot, resistance, vibration, and dynamic testingSupport commissioning and functional testing of VFD-driven and servo-driven systemsInterpret motor nameplates, encoder data, winding diagrams, and electrical schematicsAssist with parameter setup and basic configuration of VFDs and servo drivesSupport root cause analysis and prepare technical repair and diagnostic reportsReview OEM specifications and technical manuals to ensure repair accuracyAssist with quality control inspections and final system testing before shipmentDisassemble, inspect, reassemble and test run electric motorsCollaborate with production teams (winders, machinists, mechanics) to resolve technical issuesEnsure compliance with EASA, IEEE, NEC, and company quality standardsPerform additional tasks as required by the company.Technical SkillsStrong understanding of three-phase power systemsKnowledge of AC/DC motor theory, servo motor operation, and rotating equipment fundamentalsWorking knowledge of VFD operation, drive parameter configuration, and troubleshootingFamiliarity with servo systems including encoders, feedback devices, and motion controlAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagramsExperience with motor and drive testing equipment (megger, surge tester, growler, hipot tester)Understanding of insulation systems and inverter-duty motor requirementsFamiliarity with EASA repair standards preferredDEM Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package:MedicalDentalSTDLTDLife Insurance401(k) optionsPaid vacationHolidaysRequirementsAssociate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field required2+ years of hands-on electrical experience preferredExperience in industrial or manufacturing environments preferredHigh attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
