Electrical Engineering Leader - Building DesignHDR is looking for an Electrical Engineering Leader to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA. As an Electrical Engineering Leader, you'll provide electrical engineering expertise, supervise, and mentor, and be responsible for producing electrical systems design for a variety of markets including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Federal, Resources, Transportation, Health Care, Technology, and Commercial.In this role, you'll be responsible for the operation of the Northern California Building Engineering Services (BES) electrical team including staff development, workflow and forecasting, proposals and level of effort, scheduling, profitability, morale, and quality control. You'll also function as a technical lead on projects in addition to staff management responsibilities.You'll be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration.
You'll be responsible for the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction.This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound electrical engineering designs.Preferred Qualifications:Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brandMaster's degree in electrical engineeringPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desiredElectrical PE licensure in CaliforniaStrong communication and listening skillsAbility to handle multiple assignmentsGood leadership and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft OfficeProficiency with SKM electrical system modeling softwareProficiency with lighting modeling software such a VisualRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field10 years of experienceCommitted to quality, improvement and HDR valuesMaintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experienceExperienced in development and management of diverse teamsWorks cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class effortsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustHDR is committed to the principles of employment equity.
