Electrical EngineerVitesse Systems is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the team! The Electrical Engineer will assume the role as a technical leader and be given the reigns to develop innovative solutions to challenging problems across a wide variety of industries with applications on earth and outer space.The primary responsibility of the Electrical Engineer requires you to take full ownership of a problem and think like a systems engineer as you work closely alongside mechanical, software, embedded, and controls engineers.Key responsibilities include:Full life cycle development of hardware and electronics starting from initial system architecting and concepts all the way through design, analysis, prototype, testing, qualification, and deploymentPerform and document analyses on projects, including hand calcs, circuit simulations, and CAD.Design circuitry, PCBs, embedded, and high-level electrical system architecturesWrite embedded code (microcontrollers, drivers, communication systems, PLCs)Collaborate with stakeholders across disciplines to satisfy electrical requirements for mechanical hardware and control systemsTroubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical system problems including EMI / EMC issues with the ability to provide data driven solutions to make the system more robustLead design reviews internally and externally with customersCommunicate frequently and effectively with team membersBe responsible for deadlines, technically excellent, and accountable for your workConstantly strive to improve your own technical skills, company processes, and be willing to both teach and learn from your peersTravel when required to support hardware assembly, testing, and integrationOther duties as assigned.Qualifications and experience include:B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related fieldLevel I: 1+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis1+ years of experience with CAD and circuit simulation software packages1+ years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electronics, electromechanical systems, or PCBs (internship and project team experience is applicable)Level II: 5+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis3+ years of experience with CAD and circuit simulation software packages3+ years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electronics, electromechanical systems, or PCBs (internship and project team experience is applicable)Level III: 7+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis5+ years of experience with CAD and circuit simulation software packages5+ years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electronics, electromechanical systems, or PCBs (internship and project team experience is applicable)PCB / PCBA design experience, preferably using AltiumC/C++, VHDL, or Verilog experience coding an embedded systemExperience modeling electro-mechanical systems, preferably for motor control or robotic actuator control applicationsDemonstrated ability to use data and analysis to inform data driven decisionsExcellent communication skills and ability to succinctly present recommendations to stakeholders, peers, management, and executive staffExperience at a lean engineering organization or a highly technical position that required a scrappy, entrepreneurial manner to accomplish tasks with tight time or budget constraintsDemonstrated ability to perform on a highly technical and cross disciplinary hardware development teamDemonstrated ability to understand and apply electrical design principles relevant to power systems, embedded systems, and general electrical system architectureDemonstrated ability to create, maintain, and improve processes involved in the practice of engineering and product developmentDemonstrated ability to run design reviews, generate requirements, create product specifications and documentation, and perform end-to-end product testingFamiliarity and proficiency using basic electronics tools (soldering iron, crimpers, oscilloscope, etc)Proof of US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required to comply with ITAR regulationsPay range:Level I: $76,500-$100,000Level II: $89,000-$120,000Level III: $108,000-$145,000
