Learn more about our benefits.Role ResponsibilitiesIdentify, analyze, and resolve complex electrical and electronic issues across systems, subsystems, and components, with emphasis on cost reduction, supply resilience, and reliabilityLead or execute value engineering initiatives including cost reduction (CR), multi-sourcing, electrical redesign, and supplier transitionsDevelop, design, or modify electrical architectures, schematics, PCBAs, harnessing, and power/control systems for complex applicationsPartner with strategic suppliers to develop, qualify, and optimize electrical components and assemblies, including PCBAs, power supplies, and cable/harness solutionsApply Design for Cost (DfC), Design for Manufacturability (DfM), and Design for Supply Chain (DfSC) principles to electrical designs and assembliesSupport and lead ECO evaluation and execution, ensuring design changes deliver cost benefit while managing risk and operational impactSupport NPI cost evaluation and design convergence, ensuring electrical designs meet cost, performance, and manufacturability targetsWork cross-functionally with Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing teams to drive end-to-end value improvements across systemsDefine, coordinate, and execute electrical testing and validation, including system-level performance, power distribution, grounding/shielding, and reliability testingPerform engineering analysis such as power analysis, signal integrity, thermal-electrical interactions, and component selection optimizationGenerate and review electrical specifications, test plans, and technical documentation to ensure clarity and alignment across stakeholdersContribute to value tracking activities, including cost savings validation, PPV tracking, and value opportunity identificationCommunicate complex technical trade-offs (cost, performance, reliability) clearly and influence decisions across engineering and business functionsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field7–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, including electronic systems, power systems, or controlsStrong experience in areas such as circuit design, PCB layout, power systems, grounding/shielding, and component selectionDemonstrated application of Design for Excellence (DfX), particularly cost and manufacturabilityProven ability to work cross-functionally and interface with suppliers on technical solutionsPreferred QualificationsExperience in value engineering, cost reduction, or supply chain engineering environmentsKnowledge of Applied Materials / Varian product lifecycle, including NPI, ECO processes, and supplier engagementExperience with power systems, process power, controls, and complex electrical subsystemsFamiliarity with semiconductor capital equipment and high-reliability electronic systemsExperience in multi-sourcing, should-cost analysis, and supplier qualificationStrong understanding of system-level integration (electrical with mechanical and controls)The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
