The Electrical Engineer also provides support and expertise to the other members of the engineering team such as the VDC Engineers. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering.Responsibilities:Design and coordinate all power and lighting distribution systems meeting project specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer (PE) on staffManage and schedule 3D modelers/2D Drafters (VDC/BIM modelers)Review, edit and write project specifications under the guidance of a PE on staffGenerate and/or review production submittals against project specifications under the guidance of a PE on staffAssist in the estimating process for Electrical contractors by attending jobsite walk throughs, defining scope, and generating bill of materialsComplete other tasks and duties as assigned by managementQualifications:Degree in Electrical Engineering required2-5 years minimum experience with an electrical contracting company (preferred) and/or Architectural/Engineering firm requiredStrong skills and proficient in Revit software requiredProven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications requiredExperience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications requiredExperience with walk throughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials requiredMust be self-directedMust also be able to manage others and possess strong communication skillsAbility to work cohesively with other departments within the companyStrong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and follow projects to completionStrong problem-solving skills requiredAbility to travel 10-20% of the time to jobsites in multiple statesWorking Place: Troy, MIDepartment: Alivia Group Business Solutions
