Overview
Joby is seeking a talented electrical engineer to join our team designing all-electric aircraft. This engineer will work closely with mechanical, software, and other cross-functional teams. You'll be taking ownership of key electrical subsystems and printed-circuit-boards from design through prototyping and to product. This is a hands-on position. Optimizing designs for reliability, weight, and efficiency will be a focus.
Responsibilities
Create clear and readable schematics for digital and mixed-signal printed-circuit-boardsComponent selection for minimum mass and maximum reliabilityInvestigate modern technologies for power and data transmission/managementWork with PCB designers to create reliable and low-weight layoutsWrite and validate requirementsWork with system safety team to drive DFMEAsAuthor verification test cases and execute the test casesAssist with the creation, bring-up, and support of tools to support designDrive continual process improvements, maturing existing designs, and incorporating feedback from field use cases
Required
B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline) with 2+ years of relevant industry working experience, or equivalent work experience Strong electrical engineering fundamentals, including:Power conversion (linear and switching regulators)Digital design and layoutSignal conditioning and conversion (ADCs, filters)Discrete semiconductor design (FETs, BJTs, Diodes)Schematic capture and PCB designExperience with component selectionHands-on experience with building and debugging hardwareGreat communication skills

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $87,500 - $160,000/yr.
