Electrical Engineer-SupervisorThe Electrical Supervisor/Engineer position is located at our Dodson Lumber facility in Dodson, LA. This position plans and leads the daily activities of a small team of electricians in the areas of safety, quality and maintenance for all equipment and buildings in order to meet the departmental and unit goals. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.The Electrical Supervisor/Engineer will also be responsible for leading team meetings & trainings, identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues, coordinate activities with production team to maximize productivity and minimize cost, reduce waste and taking measures to proactively address all concerns.
Additionally, the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer leads the team by proactively resolving employee issues, builds team work, and ensures adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.Key Functions:Primary responsibility of leading a team of electricians to meet departmental and unit goals in equipment and building safety, quality and maintenance.Will implement preventive and predictive maintenance methods and systems to reduce unscheduled downtime and utilize reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure production volume, quality and overall uptime goals are met.The supervisor will plan, develop, manage and provide effective leadership for the maintenance team through:Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concernsActively supervise and develop the electrical maintenance team to ensure effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teamsUtilize preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtimeEfficient use of reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume and quality goals are metEffective use of training resources to maximize team technical skillsUse computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resourcesAbout our Wood Products BusinessWe manufacture and sell an innovative collection of proven structural framing materials to the residential, multi-family and light commercial markets, and also provide seamless building solutions, from design to installation to support.
