Job TitleElectrical Engineer - SeniorJob DescriptionCherokee Strategic Edge is seeking Electrical Engineers to provide support to defense analytical requirements.Compensation & Benefits:Pay commensurate with experience. Estimated Starting Salary Range for Electrical Engineer - Senior: $150,000 - $170,000. Pay commensurate with experience. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.Electrical Engineer - Senior Responsibilities Include:Architect electro-mechanical design concepts in support of customer requirementsDevelop software and hardware devices and create detailed specificationsParticipate in product design reviews as both a technical assessor and presenterElectronics design from schematic capture, PCB layout, to test planning and implementationTest and troubleshoot prototypes and provide customer technical supportLead the development activities, including requirements gathering, concept development, hardware design, component selection, schematic design, circuit board layout, prototyping, and product integration testingDevelop system designs to optimize product size, weight, power and costSupport and maintain existing productsKey member of the Engineering and Development teamCollaborate and implement designs with other project team membersUnderstand circuit schematics and electronic component datasheetsWork closely with software engineers, product managers, and vendors to ensure successful project coordination and integrationValidate design by simulations and tests on a prototype levelTranslate user and customer needs into documented technical specificationsConduct technology feasibility studies as neededDesign test fixtures and documented test processesLiaise with multidisciplinary team members, customers, and suppliersPerforms other job-related duties as assignedElectrical Engineer - Senior Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:Active TS/SCI with the willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraphBachelor's degree in electro-mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering5+ years of experience as a mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer or equivalentThree years of experience in electronic systems designExperience in 3D computer-aided design (CAD) modeling tools (Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and SAP R3)Ability to design mechanical concepts, have a pragmatic attitude, and capability to translate concepts into practical designs that meet specified requirementsFamiliar with Agile engineering processExperience in multi-layer PCB design and microelectronic componentsProven background in embedded C or C derived language development for microcontrollersComprehensive Knowledge of full design lifecycle including specification design, test and documentationExcellent proficiency in component level fault findingHigh/low temperature electronics designPrecision solderingCompetent in the design and simulation of analog and digital electronicsProficient in schematic capture (i.e. Altium) and PCB layoutAbility to read blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings and wire listsAbility to use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers and scalesCircuit layout tools: high density PCB layout: test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and multimetersTesting and troubleshooting software, embedded system using C/C++, PCB layoutEmbedded software developmentLow power design (for battery powered devices)Familiar with RF communications and micro-electronic antenna technologyElectro-mechanical assembly skillsUse of GITLAB, engineering design and drawings (SolidWorks) MATLAB, or similar engineering toolsDocumentation and technical writing skillsMust pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee FederalCompany InformationCherokee Strategic Edge (CSE) is a part of Cherokee Federal – the division of tribally owned federal contracting companies owned by Cherokee Nation Businesses.
