HIRING AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER IN SAN ANTONIO

ACCOUNTABILITY Resolve day to day technical problems and perform design duties as a team leader on projects while working with other designers and BIM design staff to deliver a quality product on schedule

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Review and sealing drawings prepared by self andor other drawings prepared by under own direct supervisionAct as the primary designer on any type of project Shall include all phases of a project from kick off to completion of constructionProvide schematic design information to Project Manager or senior level design staff such as preliminary calculations design distribution equipment sizing and providing cut sheets of all equipment proposedPrepare preliminary task listsIncorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with project team to produce construction documentsProduce sketches and system schematics for complicated design tasksMake calculations using engineering formulas and software for designResearch and select equipment based on experience and fill out schedulesPrepare drawings and sketches to incorporate into final drawingsResearch design options and document findingsCoordinate all design aspects with other disciplinesResearch code issues and asks code officials questionsAssure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standardsKeep project manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional servicesAttend design and construction meetings and produce site observation reports when requiredEdit specificationsIncorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with project team to produce construction documentsOrganize and maintain project files Maintain neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to information required by other team membersProficient use of computer for design and BIM drafting Use of computer programs for engineering analysis and equipment selectionSolve engineering problems using experience judgment and education but is expected to ask for assistance when neededPrepare engineering opinion of probable cost for systems and review contractor cost estimatesPerform and produce building assessment study reportsPerforming as a Technical Training Mentor to designersAssist Practice Area Leader and Design Director with tasks as requestedContinue learning process by attending in house seminars and continuing education opportunities outside of officePerform additional assignments as requestedneeded

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

At least 8 years of industry experience in building construction and design

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION

Licensed Professional Engineer

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of system design and an understanding of applicable design codesRevit and AutoCAD draftingdesign experience and knowledge on reading construction drawingsProficient use of computer for design and BIM drafting Use of computer programs for engineering analysis and equipment selectionProficient in Microsoft Office Suite eg Outlook Word or related softwareProficient in using office equipment eg computer copier etcExcellent research and organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDependable and punctualExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to maintain flexibility with workload and project schedulesAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to effectively meet deadlinesAbility to interact well with clients and co workers in the field and the office
