Electrical Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate electrical systems for energy efficiency, infrastructure upgrades, and performance-based projects
- Perform electrical engineering calculations including load analysis, short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and power quality assessments
- Develop drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for electrical systems
- Support energy audits and site assessments, including data collection and field verification
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, construction teams, and external stakeholders
- Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during construction
- Support commissioning activities and functional testing of electrical systems
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local AHJ requirements)
- Assist in cost estimating, lifecycle analysis, and energy savings calculations
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal engineering standards and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3–7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience (energy services, buildings, or infrastructure preferred)
- Working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and building electrical design
- Familiarity with energy efficiency technologies and building systems
- Proficiency with engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, or similar)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT with intent to obtain PE
- Experience in energy performance contracting, ESCO projects, or decarbonization initiatives
- Knowledge of lighting design, controls, renewable energy systems, or battery storage
- Experience with commissioning or construction support
- Familiarity with utility incentive programs and measurement & verification (M&V)
