Electrical Engineer (PE) - Solar PV & BESS

Location: Remote/Hybrid (NY, NJ, CT, or PA)

50% Work from Home and 50% ability to travel NY. NJ, CT and PA for projects

Job Summary

Seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) with experience in designing medium- to large-scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including electrical engineering, construction documentation, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design solar PV and BESS systems (100 kW–5 MW).
• Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Perform power system studies using SKM software.
• Manage engineering reviews, quality control, and approvals.
• Coordinate utility interconnections, permits, and contractors.
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical guidance.
• Oversee electrical design and project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Active Electrical PE license.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of solar PV design experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and three-phase power systems.
• Proficiency in SKM power system analysis software.
• Experience with transformers, switchgear, inverters, and electrical distribution systems.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• NABCEP certification.
• Experience with BESS, microgrids, or EV charging.
• Engineering team leadership experience.
