Consulting Engineering Firm Seeks Electrical EngineerWe're working with a well-established consulting engineering firm in the New Jersey area that's actively adding to their electrical team. This role is geared toward engineers and project managers with experience supporting public-sector and infrastructure-related projects, particularly within municipal or agency-driven environments.This is not a pure design-only role. They're looking for someone who can own electrical scopes across projects, coordinate with agencies and multidisciplinary teams, and stay involved from design through execution.
If you've worked on infrastructure, utilities, transportation, or facility-related electrical systems, this will feel familiar.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review electrical design documents including power distribution, lighting, and system layoutsSupport design and coordination for infrastructure and public-sector projects (utilities, transportation, facilities, etc.)Perform electrical calculations, load analysis, and system sizingCoordinate with civil, mechanical, and structural teams across multi-disciplinary projectsInterface with public agencies, clients, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycleSupport permitting, approvals, and compliance with local/state codes and standardsReview shop drawings, submittals, and construction documentationAssist with construction-phase support including RFIs and field coordination as neededQualifications:5–12+ years of electrical engineering or project management experienceBackground in infrastructure, municipal, transportation, or utility-related projects preferredExperience with electrical design, power distribution, and system coordinationFamiliarity with NEC and general public agency standardsProficient in AutoCAD (Revit is a plus)Strong communication skills — able to coordinate across teams and interact with clients/agenciesPE license or working toward licensure is a plusBenefits:Full benefits (medical, dental, vision)401(k) with company contributionPTO + paid holidaysStrong backlog of public-sector work (steady pipeline, long-term stability)Opportunity to grow into a senior-level / project management role with increased client exposure
