Electrical Engineer — Projects & Controls
Location: La Grange / Carrollton, KY area
Compensation: $100,000–$110,000 base salary + bonus
Relocation: Full relocation package available
We’re recruiting an Electrical Engineer with 2–5 years of experience for a heavy industrial operation in northern Kentucky. This role has a strong project focus, with hands-on involvement in PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, and industrial electrical systems.
You’ll help take electrical projects from initial scope through installation and startup, working closely with operations, maintenance, and contractors to improve equipment performance and plant reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Execute electrical and controls projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and modernization.
- Develop project scopes, equipment specifications, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Work with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and control system modifications.
- Specify, troubleshoot, and support VFDs, motors, drives, and related electrical equipment.
- Coordinate contractors and vendors during installation, commissioning, and startup.
- Partner with maintenance and operations to resolve recurring equipment issues and improve reliability.
- Review electrical drawings and maintain accurate project documentation.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience in heavy industry or manufacturing.
- Practical experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, and industrial drives.
- Experience supporting electrical projects from planning through implementation.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot industrial control systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on approach and comfort working directly with plant equipment and production teams.
