As part of HDR's Building Engineering Services Group, you'll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. From high-performance data centers driving the future of AI to dynamic commercial environments, your work will directly support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.In the role of Electrical Engineer we'll count on you to:Coordinate the work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceCoordinate workload to complete the document on scheduleAssume the electrical lead on many projectsDirect the activities of other electrical engineering professionals, and act as a mentor to other staff members as neededConduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators, or Technicians.Write/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems, and devicesCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desiredExperience in the following market sectors: Healthcare OSHPD / HCAI, Education, Sciences, Laboratories, Civic, Technology, and Data Centers.California Professional Engineer (PE) licenseA minimum of 2 years of experience in the electrical design of buildingsExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED is desired but not requiredRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasisPrevious experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
