We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in engineering, architecture, or construction who thrives on solving complex challenges and working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.In this role, you will coordinate and support multi-disciplinary engineering projects from planning through construction closeout.
You'll play a key part in project schedules, technical coordination, and quality assurance, ensuring seamless collaboration between in-house engineers and architectural partners. As an employee-owner, your technical contributions will directly impact project success and the growth of our firm.What You'll Gain:Exposure to a variety of commercial, private, and institutional projectsA collaborative, people-first culture that encourages creativity and flexibilityA strong foundation for long-term professional growth and ownershipGoals & ResponsibilitiesThis position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:Handle electrical and technology system designs, including power distribution, lighting, fire detection, access control, and securityEnsure quality control, adherence to timelines, and budget alignment for electrical design projectsDevelop construction documents, specifications, and reports using Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and commercial electrical design software (ETAP/SKM)Ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standardsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutionsSupport project documentation and reporting processesContribute to continuous improvement of design practicesCommunicate effectively with team members and stakeholdersQualifications & SkillsThe ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:Required Qualifications:B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.Licensed Professional Engineer in Iowa (or ability to obtain licensure within 60 days).Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and commercial electrical design software.Strong experience in commercial electrical system design, including power, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems.Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.Strong communication and client management abilities.Bonus Qualifications:M.S.
in Electrical Engineering or similar field.Licensure in multiple states.CLD (Certified Lighting Designer), CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification.Experience in ComCheck, energy modeling, arc flash studies, and electrical coordination studies.Familiarity with ETAP/SKM software and AutoCAD MEP.BenefitsRuekert & Mielke, Inc. is proud to be 100% employee owned.
