As an Electrical Engineer III, you will lead the design and coordination of sophisticated electrical systems across mission critical, telecommunications, commercial, and government projects. From early system planning through construction administration, you'll play a central role in ensuring projects are technically sound, coordinated, and delivered to the highest engineering standards.The firm operates in a highly collaborative environment where engineers are trusted with real ownership and visibility.

You'll work directly with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technically demanding projects that require both precision and problem-solving. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on engineering with leadership, field involvement, and long-term project impact.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign and coordinate electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communications infrastructurePerform field investigations, site surveys, and verification of existing electrical systemsDevelop engineering drawings and construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit in alignment with company standardsPerform electrical calculations including load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, and coordination studiesConduct arc flash studies and generate technical reports utilizing Easy Power or SKM PowertoolsCoordinate closely with mechanical, structural, architectural, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated project deliveryAssist in developing specifications, schematic narratives, technical reports, and engineering documentationCoordinate with utility providers and vendors regarding equipment selection, service requirements, and technical integrationReview RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and construction-phase documentation to ensure quality and complianceMentor designers and junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support throughout project executionIdentify and proactively resolve technical design challenges while communicating effectively with project leadership and clientsSupport QA/QC initiatives to maintain consistency, constructability, and engineering excellence across all deliverablesRequired QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited universityExperience: Minimum 7 years of experience within an MEP consulting engineering environment or related industrySoftware: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Easy Power, and SKM PowertoolsTechnical Expertise: Strong understanding of electrical systems design, building codes, arc flash analysis, short circuit studies, and multidisciplinary coordinationProject Execution: Ability to independently manage engineering responsibilities throughout all phases of the design processCommunication: Strong coordination and communication skills with internal teams, vendors, utilities, and clientsPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) registration or NCEES certification preferredExperience within mission critical, telecommunications, government, or large-scale commercial project environmentsFamiliarity with LEED, WELL, or sustainable building standardsExperience mentoring engineering teams and supporting technical staff developmentStrong construction administration and field coordination backgroundAbout DFW Consulting GroupDFW Consulting Group is a multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm delivering innovative MEP solutions across mission critical, telecommunications, aviation, commercial, government, and institutional sectors.
