Substation Engineering And Consulting ServicesResponsible for oversight of substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US. Main responsibilities include creating physical layout design deliverables. Projects range in size, complexity, and voltage class from small distribution equipment upgrades to large transmission projects.Develop detailed physical design packages for electrical substations, including general arrangements, elevations, grounding plans, conduit layouts, and equipment installation details.Perform design calculations such as grounding analysis, lightning protection, and conduit/cable sizing to support substation layouts.Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.Coordinate with protection & control engineers, civil/structural teams, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible designs.Apply industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, NESC) and utility-specific design criteria in all engineering work.Support project execution by participating in design reviews, responding to RFIs, and providing construction support as needed.Conduct site visits and field assessments to verify existing conditions and support design development.Review vendor drawings and equipment submittals to ensure compliance with specifications and project requirements.Assist in cost estimating, scheduling, and resource planning for substation projects.Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing technical guidance and quality oversight.Identify and implement opportunities for design improvements, standardization, and increased efficiency.Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards, company policies, and quality procedures.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited programMinimum 3 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)Professional Engineer registration strongly preferredProficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI StandardStrong preference for those with:Excellent written & verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCapability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures, and criteriaTRC offers a competitive benefit package consisting of:Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance.401k package that includes both traditional and Roth IRA options and Company match.Paid time off contingent upon full time or part time status and level of seniority (ranging from 15 to 25 days per year).All full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 8 Paid Holidays per year.TRC ensures that all employees, including those that work part-time, receive paid sick, family, and disability leave in accordance with the laws of their state of residence.In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition.
