The Electrical Engineer will take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to lead a design effort as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to include architects, structural, mechanical, civil and fire protection engineers. We are looking for self-motivated personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio or remote environments.The position is in the Federal Buildings Business Unit and the project type is majority US Federal Government facilities that are contracted by Department of Defense clients (USACE, NAVFAC, etc) as well as Federal Civilian clients to include NASA, FAA, GSA, OBO and Intelligence Community amongst many others. The design codes required for design calculations include IBC, IEEE, NFPA, ABA, UFCs and local/client requirements.The position is hybrid with a minimum office attendance of two days per week in the office, but more days are encouraged to become more engrained with the culture of Jacobs.Responsibilities:Work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standardsAct as the Designer of Record (DOR) for electrical design projects including schedule, budget, delegation of work to junior staff, quality control and sealing/stamping construction drawings and specifications.Gather information, interview stakeholders, make studies, perform calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches as requiredPresent findings and outcomes to clients and other stakeholdersPerform high level tasks under minimal supervision using well-defined standards, procedures and codesPerform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system researchDesign and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controlsPrepare load analysis for different stages of design; Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and formsPerform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including document management and processing RFI's and Change OrdersTeam Development Responsibilities:Provide staffing development and mentoring for junior staff to include ensuring quality delivery of product completed by all supervised by Electrical EngineerProvide project quality control reviews at project milestones and continuous "over-the-shoulder" discipline checksHere's what you'll need:U.S.

CitizenshipBachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); At least 10 years' Electrical design experienceProfessional Registration (PE)Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing is requiredOverseas & US based travel may be requiredProficiency in REVITProficiency in AGI 32 Lighting Analysis, SKM Power Tools for Windows, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and ExcelIdeally, you'll also have:Experience in data center, power, UPS systems, generator systems and medium voltage distribution projectsPrevious DoD experience, basic competency with Federal energy standards, Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) and other Government requirementsDesign Build experience and DBIA certificationClearance or ability to secure a clearancePosted Salary Range: Minimum $120,000.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper $180,000.00Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
