Electrical EngineerZiegler CAT is seeking an Electrical Engineer to help support our electric power generation group. In this role, you will collaborate across Ziegler's Power Systems division and other business lines to deliver integrated power systems solutions for commercial and industrial customers. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for design and technical support of electrical distribution systems for new projects and retrofits. The engineer works directly with sales, service technicians, project managers, and customers to deliver reliable power generation and distribution solutions.

Preferred candidates will have a strong understanding of electrical distribution system standards, design, and operations along with experience with generator controls, paralleling systems, or switchgear.Responsibilities:Partner with sales teams to review customer requirements and generate technical proposalsProvide end-to-end engineering support for generator installations—site assessments, electrical evaluations, system layout, and integration with existing infrastructureRecommend equipment (ATS, paralleling gear, switchgear) that meets project specificationsDesign electrical systems, components, and equipment based on project requirementsCreate schematics, drawings, and technical documentationSpecify materials, components, and electrical equipmentAssist in planning and executing electrical engineering projectsProvide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testingWork closely with the electric power sales team, project management, and our service teamsCommunicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and consulting engineersPrepare reports, proposals, and presentations as neededBuild and strengthen relationships with key clients and vendors in collaboration with other Ziegler sales representativesWorks with clients to understand their technical challenges and suggest solutions or improvementsLearn about CAT products, allied products and comparisons against competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concernsQualifications:Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent experience) – Preferably in an Engineering discipline2+ years of electrical engineering experiencePE certification preferredStrong understanding of distributed generation systems, switchgear, controls schemes, and electrical design principlesProficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar)Knowledge of electrical codes and industry standardsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPersonal Attributes: Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Sociability, Achievement Orientation, forward thinking mindset and strong mechanical aptitudeElectric Power, Electrician, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine experience desiredMust have and maintain a clean driving recordTravel:Up to 25% over night travelMinimum Physical Requirements:Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearingThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant's location.
