Electrical EngineerThe primary job responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer include designing, developing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems for small robots and other ground-based vehicles according to customer requirements. Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs. Contributes to research efforts to develop a solution or a new product.
Reports to a manager and works with Tech Lead. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.Key responsibilities of an electrical engineer include:Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.Designs, tests, and determines fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial, domestic, and industrial uses.Ensures that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.Maintains regular study habits by frequently reviewing emerging technologies that improve the design, development, and testing of software programming and applications and applies technologies learned.Provides leadership and guidance in technical area of specialization.Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.Core competencies (all electrical engineering positions):Reading comprehension - understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Mathematics - using mathematics to solve problems.Active listening - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Instructing - teaching others how to do something.Technology design - generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.Limited independent judgment, creative latitude and critical thinking.
