Electrical EngineerThe Electrical Engineer (EE) supports the Maintenance and Process Engineering departments by assisting Electrical and Mechanical Technicians with projects, troubleshooting, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role applies electrical engineering principles, practices, and procedures to improve equipment reliability, automation systems, process efficiency, and product quality within the manufacturing environment.Under the direction of the Plant Engineering or Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Engineer assists with electrical system design, develops and maintains electrical drawings and documentation, supports equipment modifications, and recommends improvements to electrical and control systems to enhance manufacturing performance and operational safety.Education and Experience:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical EngineeringS.E.E (preferred)Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Electrical Engineering roleAdditional Qualifications: (Preferred qualifications, certifications, and/or licenses)2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong commitment to promoting and maintaining a proactive safety cultureExperience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and controlsWorking knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation systemsExperience coordinating contractors and outside vendorsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities effectivelyExperience managing project material and labor costs within departmental budgetsExcellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electrical design softwareEssential Responsibilities:Assist with troubleshooting and improving electrical and automation systemsSupport installation, relocation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipmentDevelop and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and related documentationSupport maintenance teams with electrical and controls troubleshootingCoordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure project requirements and specifications are metObtain project quotations and serve as the primary contact for electrical contractors and suppliersOrder electrical components and project materials as requiredParticipate in planning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement meetingsSupport preventative and predictive maintenance initiativesMaintain working knowledge of plant electrical distribution systems, manufacturing processes, and industrial safety standardsPerform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by managementKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:Root cause analysis and corrective action implementationUnderstanding of industrial electrical systems, controls, and automationImproving process yield, throughput, productivity, and equipment reliabilityKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement methodologiesAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentationExperience designing, specifying, and commissioning electrical systems and controlsStrong presentation and public speaking skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environmentStrong problem-solving capability with hands-on experience applying methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, PFMEA, DMAIC, and other root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools.General Expectations:Demonstrate effective communications (verbal, written) skillsProficient with MS Office Word and ExcelMaintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary informationStrict adherence to Company safety policies and proceduresConform to all aspects of OFS' "Standards of Conduct" document
