Electrical EngineerThe Electrical Engineer works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product and support daily production activities. This is a managerial position, which would include the daily supervision of plant electricians and electronic technicians as well as the management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations and equipment installation.Duties And ResponsibilitiesApplies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial plant settingOversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principlesDiagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective actionDevelops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance dutiesPlans, directs and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as neededDirects, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employeesSupports and encourages employees to work safely, efficiently and effectivelyPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedJob RequirementsIn addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:Minimum Requirements:Approximately 10% overnight travelMust be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional supportKnowledge of control systems and sub-systemsKnowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and cooling)Facility power distribution to include voltage up to 4160v, three-phaseInstrumentation and calibration knowledgeProcess control systems – set-up and program applications (Honeywell)Ability to design, modify and plot using AutoCAD softwareInstallation, set-up and programming of PLC's (Allen-Bradley)Working knowledge of motor controls, VFD's, DC drives, Eddy Current Systems and/or Modicon system designAt least three years of proven supervisory experienceFive to seven years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environmentBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience plus an Associate's degreePreferred Requirements:Green or black belt certification in Six SigmaElectrical Journeyman's certificationPackaging industry experienceCompetencies:Strong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)Excellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-taskDemonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate peopleEffective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc.Must be able to look at new solutions and "think outside the box"Strong problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approachAbility to work independently or with a teamPhysical Requirements:Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focusThe associate may lift and/or move up to 10 poundsWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlWorking Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular trafficWhile performing the duties of this job, associate will be exposed to power sourcesGenerally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office settingThe noise level is frequently loudThe associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperaturesCompensation:$86,761.00 to $137,929.00 per year.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Benefits: Crown offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits including free company paid health insurance for employees as well as company matched 401(k).EEO/AA/Vets/Disabled
