Electrical EngineerJoin a highly automated manufacturing environment where no two days are the same. As an Electrical Engineer on our Manufacturing Engineering team, you'll play a key role in supporting production operations, driving continuous improvement, and leading impactful engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with automated control systems, process automation, industrial interfaces, and troubleshooting complex manufacturing systems. You'll help develop, improve, and optimize highly automated processes that are designed and advanced right here in Boulder. This is not a traditional PCBA or hardware design role.
Instead, the focus is on controls integration, automation systems, instrumentation, and process reliability within a sophisticated manufacturing environment. Programming experience is a strong plus, particularly with C++ and JavaScript. What You'll DoSupport and improve highly automated manufacturing processes and control systemsDevelop, troubleshoot, and optimize automation systems, industrial interfaces, instrumentation, and process controlsCollaborate closely with engineers, maintenance technicians, and process operators to solve complex technical challenges and implement process improvementsDesign, specify, and install instrumentation, electrical devices, power distribution components, and control systems for new and existing processesLead electrical and controls portions of engineering projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and executionBalance multiple priorities across production support, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital projectsOversee contractors involved in electrical equipment and wiring installationSupport process automation initiatives developed at the Boulder facilityApply structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies to improve system reliability and performanceWho You AreB.S. in Electrical Engineering5+ years of industrial or process engineering experienceYou thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoy solving complex technical problemsEffectively communicate and collaborate well across engineering, operations, and maintenance teamsExperience leading or contributing to cross-functional technical projectsOrganized and capable of managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneouslyAbility to travel domestically and internationally as neededValue continuous improvement and have experience applying LEAN, Six Sigma, A3, or other structured problem-solving methodologiesTechnical Skills & ExperienceExperience with process control systems, instrumentation, and PID control loopsKnowledge of industrial automation systems, controls integration, and automated manufacturing equipmentAbility to develop P&IDs, electrical schematics, and panel/equipment layout drawingsExperience with low-voltage power distribution systems up to 480VExperience with motor control systems, including VFD configuration, programming, and troubleshootingUnderstanding of industrial communication systems, including I/O networks and Ethernet communicationsFamiliarity with robotics, automated process equipment, and industrial control methodologiesUnderstanding of NEC hazardous area classifications, especially Class II Divisions 1 & 2Experience with grounding and bonding systems in industrial or high-hazard environmentsProgramming experience with C++, JavaScript, or related languages is a plusBenefits We OfferComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) retirement planPaid holidays and paid time offA culture that supports flexibility and healthy work-life balance
