Grid Operations And Planning Research EngineerThis position supports the Grid Operations and Planning Research area within Client’s Research & Development department. The engineer will support projects and in time lead efforts to deploy and evaluate the performance of emerging technologies in this arena.The position is primarily focused on tools to support grid operations with an emphasis on power system analysis, power system modeling and simulation including digital twins, “big data” analytics, and visualization.However, the work may involve projects in other areas of the power system. Knowledge of databases, data structures, computer networking is desirable as well as an aptitude to apply engineering analysis to solve problems.Job Responsibilities :Develop research plan to evaluate new technologyManage multiple tasks at one timeProvide documentation of study assumptions and methods used to arrive at resultsProvide informative reports and presentations on projectsSome overnight travel may be required but this is not extensive.Education Requirements :Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE) requiredProficiency in power system modeling and simulation (RTDS, PSCAD, or PSS/E) required.
