Join us and design your place with Stantec.Your Opportunity As an Electrical Designer/Engineer, you will lead and support the delivery of electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of building projects, ranging in size and complexity. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, code-compliant solutions from concept through construction.
This role provides the opportunity to take ownership of design elements, contribute to project planning and execution, and grow into increased leadership responsibilities. You will play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, coordination, and successful project delivery in a fast-paced consulting environment.Your Key ResponsibilitiesLead electrical engineering design efforts on multiple projects of varying complexity, including data collection and analysis to support design decisionsInterpret drawings, codes, and applicable standards to inform design solutionsPerform calculations and design building electrical systems, including lighting, photometrics, and power distribution studies using company standards and industry softwareLead preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documentsCoordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines throughout project executionSupport project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule managementPerform field investigations, site visits, and construction observationsLead project coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendorsSupport development of electrical standards and specificationsMentor junior staff and serve as a technical resource to the teamPerform other duties as assigned by project leadershipYour Capabilities and CredentialsProfessional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain licensure; Texas licensure is a plusStrong ability to integrate electrical design elements with other disciplinesSolid knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standardsDeep understanding of power distribution and lighting systems for building designExperience across sectors such as commercial, higher education, K-12, mission critical, and/or industrial projects is a plusAbility to apply sustainable design principlesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Revit and familiarity with multidisciplinary coordination workflowsWorking knowledge of industry tools such as AGi32 (or equivalent), SKM (or equivalent), Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Newforma Project CenterWillingness to travel periodically based on project and client needsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering requiredMinimum of 5 years of electrical design experience in building systemsExperience in sectors such as Commercial, Workplace, Mission Critical, or Science & Technology preferredTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
