Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CAWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Actuator Systems team, designing and testing the motor control and power electronics hardware that drives our humanoid robots.ResponsibilitiesDesign and validate PCBAs for actuator and motor control systems, including motor controllers, gate drivers, power distribution boards, and mixed-signal sensing circuitsDevelop conceptual designs and conduct trade studies to support key actuator hardware decisionsDesign across analog, digital, and power domains on the same board — managing signal integrity, noise isolation, and thermal considerationsSupport review of design artifacts (schematics, layouts, bill of materials) from peers and external suppliersSupport system integration and test activities through hands-on debugging and validationRequirementsBachelor or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field2+ years of industry experienceSolid EE fundamentals with hands-on experience designing, building, and testing PCBAsMastery of Altium Designer in both schematics and layoutExperience with motor controller design — gate drivers, H-bridges, FOC, BLDC/PMSM topologiesExperience with mixed-signal design spanning analog, digital, and power domainsStrong debugging instincts — you know how to attack a hardware problem, document findings, and drive to solutions quicklyBonus QualificationsExperience with power electronics — DC-DC converters, switching regulators, battery managementFamiliarity with current sensing, encoder interfaces, and motor feedback circuitsExperience with small form factor boards (HDI, flex, rigid-flex)Embedded programming of microcontrollers, DSPs, or FPGAs for motor control applicationsExperience with LTspice or similar simulation toolsBackground in robotics, automotive, drone, or other motor-driven systemsThe US base salary range for this full-time position is between $120,000 - $250,000 annually.The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
