Electrical DesignerPhoenix, AZ | On-Site role Full-Time | $25 – $45/hr, depending on experienceJob Description:Develop detailed electrical design drawings and technical documentation for power distribution systems, including switchgear lineups, lighting layouts, grounding and lightning protection systems.Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing, meticulously accounting for current loads and environmental variables.Assess cable tray fills methodically to guarantee proper cable management, organization, and future scalability.Perform detailed short circuit calculations to accurately determine fault currents, select appropriate protective devices, and ensure system safety and reliability.Perform precise voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system stability and compliance with industry standards.Ensure all electrical designs strictly adhere to pertinent local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.Apply established electrical design techniques, such as load flow analysis and fault current calculations, and exercise discernment in adapting and modifying design concepts as needed. Uphold quality control by adhering to company and team electrical design standards and industry best practices.Will work with other Designers, Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.Foster collaboration, communication, strategy, and support within your team, multidisciplinary groups (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.), and inter-company teams to optimize efficiency, quality, and resource allocation.Requirements:Electrical design experience with AutoCADAbility to produce power distribution schematics, panel schedules, lighting and grounding plans, and other system diagrams aligned with industry standards and client criteriaProficient in interpreting electrical one-line diagrams, creating construction documents, and collaborating within multidisciplinary project teamsKnowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electric Code, NFPA, etc.).Preferred:An Associate Degree in Engineering or Architectural fields is a plusExperience with other tools such as Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and/or EasyPower is a plus
