Electrical Designer – NuclearWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with nuclear industry experience for a contract-to-hire opportunity for our client in Perry, OH. This role is responsible for developing and producing detailed electrical design deliverables supporting plant modification and installation projects. The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal supervision while supporting multiple concurrent projects and coordinating across engineering disciplines.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and produce electrical design deliverables including wiring diagrams, connection diagrams, one-line and three-line diagrams, schematic/elementary diagrams, logic diagrams, and conduit/raceway layoutsCreate and maintain complex 2D engineering drawings with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailReview and check drawings for completeness, dimensional accuracy, spelling, and compliance with project design standards and specificationsSupport field walkdowns as needed to verify existing conditions, obtain measurements, and develop as-built documentation and field sketchesInterface with project engineers and other disciplines to resolve design discrepancies and ensure coordinated design solutionsCommunicate with client engineering and construction representatives to ensure designs meet applicable standards and project requirementsExercise independent judgment in developing design solutions with limited direction from design leadershipQualificationsAssociate degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceMinimum 5+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering drafting practicesStrong understanding of electrical and controls systems design principlesExperience producing and checking complex engineering drawings in an industrial or power generation environmentExperience with CADD tools; knowledge of Raster Design or 3D modeling tools is a plusAdditional training or coursework in basic electronics and/or electrical systems preferredPrior nuclear plant modification or field experience strongly preferredPhysical & Field RequirementsAbility to perform plant walkdowns in industrial and nuclear environmentsMay include climbing ladders, working at heights, and carrying equipment up to 50 lbsMust be able to access controlled, secured, and restricted areasExposure to industrial conditions such as high temperatures and regulated radiological environments may be requiredAbility to develop field sketches and verify as-built conditions in active facility settingsAdditional InformationMust be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong communication and coordination skills across engineering and construction teams requiredNo Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements or third-party submissions will be considered.
