With a team of experienced staff in specific market sectors such as Healthcare, Science and Technology, Data Centers, Higher Education, Federal, Transportation, Water, and Resources facilities, we provide engineering excellence for our clients. We have an industry leading focus on sustainable design and energy conservation.The HDR BES group in New Jersey is looking for an Electrical Designer/EIT to join our team. Primary responsibilities in the role of Electrical Designer/EIT include:Perform routine electrical engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected resultsWork on projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variablesWork on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projectsWork with assistance from Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs or Technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Designer" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression. Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm and 2 years experience designing electrical lighting, power and systems for building projects are also preferred.
Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED is desired but not required. Local candidates are preferred.Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration, strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power, and an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.HDR is committed to the principles of employment equity.
