As part of HDR's Building Engineering Services Group, you'll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.In the role of Electrical Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of electrical engineering techniques and proceduresWork directly with owners to develop recommendationsReview electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite/edit electrical specifications, select equipment and electrical devicesMake decisions on significant design and engineering features as neededCoordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines as neededShow understanding of local and national building codes including the National Electrical CodeHave knowledge of electrical equipment and electrical construction methodsPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications:Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm2+ years experience designing electrical lighting, power and systems for building projects; EITExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not requiredRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasisDesire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registrationStrong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy PowerAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustHDR is our company.
