Electrical Controls EngineerTalentBridge is partnering with a well-established, multi-site manufacturing organization that is investing heavily in modernizing equipment and expanding production capabilities within one of its core facilities. As part of that growth, the team is looking to add an Electrical Engineer with a strong controls background to support ongoing capital projects and automation initiatives. This is a project-driven engineering role with meaningful visibility and ownership, ideal for someone who enjoys working on new equipment installations, programming from the ground up, and improving overall plant performance.
This role sits within a small, collaborative engineering team and reports directly to the site's Maintenance & Engineering leadership. The focus is on proactive engineering work, including new equipment integration, system upgrades, and process improvements. You'll play a key role in bringing new production lines online, working with OEMs, and helping bridge gaps between legacy and newer control systems.Responsibilities:Lead and support automation and controls projects, including new equipment installations and system upgradesDevelop and program PLC logic from scratch, not just troubleshooting or minor editsWork with a mix of legacy and newer control systems, helping transition and standardize platformsCollaborate with OEMs to integrate new machinery into existing operationsTroubleshoot and resolve control system issues as needed, while focusing primarily on long-term improvementsSupport commissioning, startup, and optimization of new production linesPartner closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure equipment performance and reliabilityExperience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred, but other engineering disciplines considered)3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a controls focusStrong experience with PLC programming from the ground up (critical requirement)Experience with Siemens controls strongly preferred; Allen-Bradley experience acceptable with exposure to SiemensHands-on experience with automation systems, production equipment, and troubleshooting in a plant environmentAbility to work independently and take ownership of projects with minimal oversightComfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving production environmentAdditional Details:Project-focused work.
