Oxford Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Estimator to support bidding and preconstruction activities for new construction and renovation projects. This role requires a strong background in electrical estimating, including experience with substation systems and related technologies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including new installations and renovation work
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents
- Develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
- Use McCormick electrical estimating software or a comparable estimating platform
- Evaluate project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and potential cost-saving opportunities
- Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Support bid preparation, proposal development, and estimate handoffs to project teams
- Maintain accurate estimating records and historical cost information
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction estimating experience
- Experience estimating both new construction and renovation projects
- Working knowledge of electrical substations and associated technologies
- Familiarity with GIS, AIS, and STATCOM systems
- Experience with McCormick estimating software strongly preferred; similar electrical estimating software will be considered
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
