Electrical Assembly And Test TechWhat you'll do:Assemble, wire, and test electrical components such as relays, switches, transformers, circuit breakers, terminal blocks, etc. while upholding safety requirementsInstall completed assemblies into cabinets and enclosures as requiredAccurately layout and position assembly components to ensure construction feasibility and ease of installation and future maintenanceParticipate in switch rack construction: including bus fabrication and assembly, enclosure construction, component layout and mounting to frame. Installation, measurement, fabrication, and installation of conduit and associated fittings, and wiring of complete assemblyComplete Qualified Electrical Worker training and functional test the aforementioned products as required.

Efficiently troubleshoot any product quality challenges identified during testingIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement/cost savings for operations and/or the facilityAnalyze job requirements from blueprints and schematics. Note discrepancies and make necessary adjustments to switch rack and drawings. Advise Manufacturing Engineer of correctionsCross-train as needed to develop additional skills sets to flex as needed with demandResponsible for maintaining work area and general shop area in a clean and orderly conditionPerform all other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnelRequired (Basic) Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is requiredAt least 2 years of experience in complex electrical assembly and testing with Electrician Certification (Journeyman or Master Electrician), an associate degree or technical certification in a related electrical field, military electrical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required (TDLR Licensed 3rd-year apprentice with heavy industrial assembly history)3 years of electro-mechanical (piping, conduits, threading) assembly experience requiredAbility to work overtime.

Candidates will need to be CPR/AED/First Aide Certified prior to startPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience building explosion proof and/or power-distribution products preferredSkills:Strong mechanical/technical aptitude; knowledge of principles of mechanics, characteristics of materials, fundamentals of electricity and wiring of ordinary circuitsAbility to setup and operate hand, pneumatic and power toolsUse of a variety of fixed and adjustable gauges and electrical testing equipment to prove out wiring and mechanical functions of unit and to ensure qualityExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to read wiring diagrams and other technical drawingsSelf-starter, able to work with minimal supervisionAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentStrong time management skill as well as oral communication skillsAble to handle multiple and conflicting prioritiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and qualityStrong practical knowledge applicable to manufacturing environmentBasic working knowledge and experience with computersStrong professional communication with customers visiting on-site, upholding *** ValuesPhysical Requirements:Able to stand on feet continuously during working shiftAble to lift and bend on a continuous basisAble to regularly lift 30-50 pounds without assistanceAbility to distinguish colored wiringMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure
