Winding TechnicianThe experienced Winding Technician will have working knowledge of electric motor repair shop services whereas the entry level candidates will be taught to prepare/strip stators and/or armatures for AC/DC electric motors and special equipment by performing the following duties.Entry-Level Essential Job Responsibilities:Will be required to learn and perform our motor stripping process, which requires use of a respirator and the ability to withstand stripping room environment and temperatures.Take physical measurements, electrical measurements, and verify connections of windingStrip and remove windings using the Dreisilker MotorSafe method: Core loss test laminationsTake dataCut winding head precisely with abrasive sawHeat windings to around 400 FahrenheitHydraulically extract coilsRemove remaining insulation and insulation paperClean, scrape, sand, file and deburr lamination steel core for rewindingInsert coils into lamination slots according to connection dataPrepare winding slot insulation by measuring, cutting, folding and creasingTape coils with insulation tapeAssist with dipping, trickling, vacuum pressure, and encapsulation of windingsPerforms other routine duties as assigned and required by management.Training and/or Experienced-Level Job Responsibilities:Inspect windings and coils of electro-mechanical apparatusElectrically test windings to international standards and to electrical tolerance requirementsMake sample coils in preparation for manufacturing of form or random wound coilsManufacture coils using automatic winding, spreading, looping, and or tensioning machinesInsert coils into lamination slots according to connection dataShape winding heads to proper dimension, tie down and/or insert blockingMake electrical connections and test connectionsSolder, braze, or weld electrical connectionsClean commutator risers with hand toolsPhysically measure wire sizing and insulation sizing with micrometersAssist with root-cause-failure-analysisPerform basic tests on electric motors.Performs service calls as requested.Performs other routine duties as assigned and required by management.DEM offers a competitive salary and benefits package:MedicalDentalSTDLTDLife Insurance401(k) optionsPaid vacationHolidaysRequirements:High School diploma or a general education degree (GED), with 3-5 years experience reading electrical schematics preferred.
