EL Aide at LHS - 2 Positions
Facilitate school and cultural acclimation, growth, and academic learning to any and all EL students in EL classes and other content area subjects.
Reports to: EL Department Chair

Calendar: 184 Teacher Attendance Days, 7:45am - 3:45pm
Qualifications: Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation
Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred
Illinois Paraprofessional license required
Professional/Personal Characteristics:
- Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient with Google G-Suite, office and phone equipment
- Ability to work as part of an educational team to support the needs of individual or groups of students
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist and collaborate with teachers of EL courses as needed in planning, executing, and assessing lessons
- Assist individuals or groups of EL students with course work in content areas
- Communicate student's needs, strengths and weaknesses with EL teacher and other staff members and collaborate as needed
- Accompany and assist students in various English class settings, as well as other content area subjects as needed
- Assist EL teacher when administering appropriate testing of EL students
- Perform administrative duties such as copying and filing
- Advocate for students in academic and personal issues
- Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor
