The Fountain Group is currently seeking an EHS Specialist for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Raynham, MA. Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description
- Location: Raynham, MA (100% onsite).
- Payrate: $38.75/hr W2
- 12 months contract (possible extension based on performance and budget)
- The EHS Specialist/Sr. Specialist will be responsible for providing both occupational safety and industrial hygiene support at the Raynham, MA site to build a proactive EHS culture.
- This role supports all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management System.
- You will serve as an influential member of the Raynham EHS team, who impacts decision making and takes an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, teamwork and collaboration across various site functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree is required; advanced degree or focused degree in EHS, Engineering, Science or related field is preferred.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
- Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) experience with emphasis on Chemical Management, Change Control, Risk Assessments and Emergency Response.
- Ability to oversee and manage EHS projects.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and controlling EHS risks in the workplace
- Proven track record to quickly interpret complex regulatory issues and provide recommended course of action
- Proficient in MS SharePoint and MS Office software programs
Preferred
- Manufacturing/Laboratory/Office experience in a highly regulated environment
- Technical/working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Technical experience in diverse EHS areas of machine safety, hearing conservation, risk assessment development, corrective and preventive action plan oversight and/or chemical substances handling, etc.
- Demonstrated project management skills
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a high level of EHS performance for the site.
- Provide technical support for all EHS programs including warehouse safety, dock safety, machine safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, change control, contractor safety, powered industrial vehicles and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, as well as Pharmaceutical EHS Standards including Management of Change.
- Partner with local management to develop and implement a site Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process to address EHS program deficiencies and ensure EHS regulatory compliance.
- Performing required annual EHS program reviews in compliance with Enterprise EHS tactical plans.
- Develop, review and update required EHS programs including, but not limited to: Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout/Hazardous Energy Control, Confined Space Programs, Fire Prevention Programs, Hot Work Program, Machine Safety, Warehouse Safety and Chemical Inventory, Management of Change, etc. Support implementation plans for these programs.
- Perform ergonomic risk assessments, conduct machine safety risk assessments, and develop job safety analysis for automated and manual job functions.
- Perform routine EHS assessments, utilize the Pharmaceutical Program Reviews, Assurance Audit, and Self Assessments to identify program specific deficiencies and areas of risk.
- Support incident investigations for all reported injuries, including First Aid and Good Saves.
- Develop training to address EHS Standards and regulatory requirement compliance across the Raynham and Bridgewater facilities.
- Conduct site inspections (includes report generation, solution development, action tracking through CURVE reporting system, etc.) where needed: Annual Rack Inspections (monthly spot checks), Fall Prevention Inspections, Falls from Heights reviews (every 3 years), Loading Dock Risk Assessments.
- Conduct Permit to Work training (including electronic Permit to Work program implementation), assisting w/permit development and execution, program oversight, etc. Lockout/Tagout Program Support (training, procedure development, annual inspections, Lockout/Tagout audits, etc.)
- Support management of change reviews on all applicable equipment and process changes. Launching, supporting, and promoting Life Saving Rules across both facilities.
- Assist in relevant industrial hygiene sampling to ensure alignment of sampling campaigns for chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients, noise, etc.
- Conduct quarterly walkthroughs of all spaces (report generation, action item tracking, etc.) Monthly and semi-annual metric reporting (CURVE) when necessary.
- Conduct quarterly in-person EHS training across all shifts where required.
- Support projects that reduce risk for Serious Injury Fatality (SIF) events, machine guarding projects, ergonomic projects, etc. across both sites (Bridgewater & Raynham) where necessary.
- General EHS program support (Quality Assurance, Good Save/Incident Investigation and follow-up, resource coordination for key projects, overall EHS compliance maintenance, etc.) at both sites.
- Provide day to day support of the site’s Medical Emergency Response Team and provide emergency response guidance as needed.
Other
- Certifications in CIH, CHMM, CSP, and/or ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor are preferred but not required.
