We supply solar PVnproducts primarily to the electric power generation and aerospace/transportation sectors in bothnthe United States and Canada.nPosition overviewnThis EHS Sr. Manager/Manger role will support the Ubiquity Solar, Thin Film PV operations.nUbiquity Solar has an established a Safety 1st Culture. The EHS team, along with the support ofnthe entire organization, will be on the front line of Ubiquity’s environmental stewardship,nregulatory compliance, factory safety and risk management. Initially this position will be annindividual contributor’s position supported by 3rd party expertise as needed. As operations andnneeds grow this role will be expected to lead a team of engineers to meet the expectations of thenorganization.nWhat we need:nWe need a passionate safety professional looking to grow and maintain a Safety 1st Culture. ThenEH&S Sr. Manager/Manager position will be the lead safety officer for the company’s Thin FilmnPV operations in Upstate NY. This will be a highly visible, leadership position spanning acrossnall levels of the organization. Independent and collaborative decision-making abilities will benneeded to establish required safety programs along with developing routing safety managementnpractices. Decision making must show sound judgement, have fundamental technical rationale,nand weigh the risk/benefit for Ubiquity Solar.nThis role will also play and important part in strengthening our strong environmental, societalnand governance (“ESG”) commitment to develop an exceptional culture to attract and developnthe best people, partners, customers, and investors in the industry while exceeding all safety andnenvironmental requirements. You will be based in our Endicott office.nMore specifically, in this role you will:n• The EH&S Sr. Manager/Manager will lead a team in implementing programs to manage risk,nimprove critical KPI’s as well as meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements.n• Provide technical expertise and management direction in multiple EH&S disciplines including,nbut not limited to, chemical safety, process safety, equipment safety, ergonomics, hazardousnwaste management and environmental permitting.n• Work directly with the Process Development and Manufacturing teams to ensure that all safetynprograms, applicable safeguards and training programs are in place for existingnequipment/process as well as guide new requirements. Where needed drive the developmentnof specific safety and/or training programs.n• Ubiquity Solar will be a 7*24 manufacturing operation: This position will build and maintainnERT responsibility for the factory. As issue arise, lead investigation and drive root causencorrective action as warranted.n• This position must be able to assess Ubiquity’s EH&S needs. In cases where internal resourcesnare insufficient be able to effectively source and manage 3rd party resources to supportnUbiquity’s needs.n• Ubiquity Solar new technology advancements require the design and/or modification of ournprocess equipment. This position will work with these teams to provide timely inputs to thenequipment and process design reviews, installation and start-up of equipment and processes.nPreferred qualifications:n• Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree desirable). Strong preference willnbe given to candidates with a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, EnvironmentalnEngineering or related fields such as Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science.n• This position requires 10+ years of demonstrated EH&S leadership experience in a complexnmanufacturing environment with an emphasis on semiconductor, thin film solar or chemicalnmanufacturing.
Experience in leading EH&S in a fast-growing manufacturing company isnhighly desirable.n• Must possess active professional certification (CSP, IH or CHMM)n• Working knowledge of local environmental and operations regulations and demonstratednexperience in interaction with these agencies.n• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across organizations without direct managementnresponsibility.
