Position Overview
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs that ensure compliance with applicable regulations and promote a safe and sustainable workplace. This role partners with leadership, employees, contractors, and regulatory agencies to drive continuous improvement in safety performance, environmental stewardship, and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies, procedures, and management systems to support regulatory compliance and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations , including required permits, reporting, recordkeeping, and programs such as OSHA logs, air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, and related compliance activities.
- Conduct risk assessments, facility audits, inspections, and incident investigations , and drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk and improve workplace safety and environmental performance.
- Oversee EHS training, emergency response planning, safety committees, workers’ compensation, and employee engagement initiatives to promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
- Manage EHS budgets, performance metrics, KPIs, and departmental priorities while supporting leadership, mentoring supervisors, and maintaining alignment with HTGSS values, ISO standards, and internal policies.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations , including compliance reporting and permitting requirements.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action management .
- Expertise in environmental compliance programs , including waste, air emissions, wastewater, hazardous materials, and sustainability/ESG initiatives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills , with the ability to train, mentor, and influence teams across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and continuous improvement skills , with a track record of organizing priorities, solving problems proactively, and driving measurable EHS results.
Compensation: ($85,000 - $105,000)
