Onsite Contract Architecture and Engineering Occupations

The EHS Manager (Environmental, Health, and Safety ) oversees workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental management across facility operations. This role ensures strict alignment with OSHA, EPA, and Department of Defense (DoD) standards while driving proactive hazard prevention, managing compliance databases, and supporting quality frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Explosive Safety & Defense Compliance

  • Maintain full compliance with DoD -M
  • Conduct weekly inspections of production buildings and explosive storage magazines.
  • Monitor Net Explosive Weight (N.E.W. ) limits and ensure explosive-compatibility adherence.
  • Lead preparation and representation during quarterly Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) audits.
Occupational Safety & Health (OSHA)
  • Oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) triennial reviews and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) 5-year re-validations.
  • Lead cross-functional committees to establish and manage a proactive site ergonomics program.
  • Manage post-incident investigations for work-related injuries, executing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA 300 logs , SDS/MSDS documentation, and worker's compensation records in partnership with HR.
  • Oversee PPE inventory management, proper utilization, and procurement.
Environmental & Hazardous Materials Management
  • Support environmental site remediation, pollutant delineation, and formal reporting to the EPA .
  • Direct training, inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting for all site-generated waste.
  • Coordinate specialized regulatory training programs, including DOT, IATA, and HAZWOPER .
Training, Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct onboarding safety training for all incoming personnel and maintain site-wide training records.
  • Facilitate monthly safety committee meetings and site-wide safety updates.
  • Align safety SOPs and work instructions with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D quality management systems.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Health, Risk Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an EHS supervisory or managerial role.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Prior background in a high-hazard manufacturing environment.
    • Direct experience with energetics, explosives, or hazardous materials handling.
